Patients were randomised in two groups: tapering ASD combined with supportive care by the general practitioner (GP+) and tapering of ASD without GP support (GP–). Population H. pylori-negative patients on maintenance ASD therapy with functional dyspepsia or mild gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) were included.

Methode H. pylori-negatieve patiënten met chronische functionele dyspepsie of milde refluxziekte waarvoor langdurig gebruik van zuurremmers nodig is, zijn gerandomiseerd in twee groepen: afbouw van zuurremmers met hulp van de huisarts (HA+) en afbouw van zuurremmers zonder hulp (HA–).
