A variable gain transconductance amplifier is provided with an amplifying transistor (Tr1) connected to an input terminal, a cascode transistor (Tr2) having the source thereof connected to the drain of the amplifying transistor and the drain thereof connected to an output terminal, and a switching circuit (14) that can switch between connecting and not connecting, to a fixed potential, the node at which the amplifying transistor and the cascode transistor are connected.
