غير أن الاختلاف في المركز السياسي لا ينفي الواقع الموضوعي المتمثل في اشتراكنا جميعا في نفس التراث والثقافة، وكفاحنا جنبا إلى جنب في جهد مشترك لم يمض عليه سوى قرن ونصف قرن لتحقيق الانعتاق الفعلي من نظام الرق اللاإنساني.

But these differentiations in political status do not dismiss the objective reality that we all share a common heritage and culture, and have struggled together in a common effort to achieve physical emancipation from the inhumane system of slavery, only a century and a half ago.
