Justinus je npr. zapisal: »Skiti so dopušèali, da se jim je živina pomikala brez nadzora iz kraja v kraj in se niso bali, da bi je zmanjkalo, saj je za tatove veljala stroga kazen.« Ko bi hodili lastniki za živino, bi bila ta še bolje zavarovana.
