في تموز/يوليه 2010، أوصت منظومة الأمم المتحدة حكومة النيجر بأمور منها مواصلة توعية السكان بحقوقهم وواجباتهم، وتدوين القوانين العرفية بهدف إلغاء ما يتنافى منها والمعايير الدولية لحقوق الإنسان، وسحب تحفظاته على اتفاقية القضاء على جميع أشكال التمييز ضد المرأة، وتنظيم حملات للتوعية بالمخاطر المرتبطة بالهجرة غير القانونية(114).

In July 2010, the United Nations country team recommended in particular that the Government of Niger continue to inform the population about its rights and duties; that it undertake codification of customs to do away with those contrary to international human rights norms, that it lift its reservations to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and that it organize campaigns to raise awareness about the risks inherent to illegal migration.

En julio de 2010, el Equipo de las Naciones Unidas en el país recomendó en particular que el Gobierno del Níger continúe poniendo al corriente a la población de sus derechos y deberes, codifique las costumbres para eliminar las que sean contrarias a las normas internacionales de los derechos humanos, retire sus reservas a la Convención sobre la eliminación de todas las formas de discriminación contra la mujer, y organice campañas de sensibilización sobre los riesgos inherentes a la migración irregular .
