Der satses paa de FTU-omraader, der er af stoerst betydning for infrastrukturens udvikling, idet der tages hensyn til behovet for en selektiv og koncentreret indsats. Maalet er at oege erhvervslivets konkurrenceevne og beskaeftigelsen i Den Europaeiske Union samt at forbedre borgernes livskvalitet navnlig ved at goere det lettere for dem at faa adgang til informationsinfrastrukturen.

Die vorgeschlagenen FTE-Bereiche sind für die Entwicklung der Infrastruktur überaus wichtig. Dabei sind der Bedarf an gezielten, konzentrierten Maßnahmen sowie die angestrebte Verbesserung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Industrie, der Beschäftigungssituation in der Europäischen Union und der Lebensqualität der Bürger, insbesondere durch die Erleichterung des Zugangs zur informationellen Infrastruktur zu berücksichtigen.

The RTD areas proposed are those most vital to the development of the infrastructure, taking into account the need for selectivity and concentration of effort, and with the objective of improving the competitiveness of industry and the employment situation in the European Union, and of enhancing the quality of life for citizens, in particular by facilitating their access to the information infrastructure.
