When a real grinding load detected when the real grinding of the work (W) is performed exceeds the upper limit threshold (Th1) and/or the lower threshold (Th2) corresponding to the elapsed time since the start of grinding or the relative positions of the work (W) and the grinding wheel (43), the grinding is determined to be abnormal.
