回転操作軸(1)を収容したハウジング(2)に前記回転操作軸(1)への回転操作力により作動するイグニッションスイッチ(3)を連結したエンジン始動装置であって、前記イグニッションスイッチ(3)は、前記ハウジング(2)に形成された取り付け凹部(4)に適宜の弾発係止手段(5)により抜け止めされて嵌合保持されるとともに、前記イグニッションスイッチ(3)と取り付け凹部(4)とは、嵌合始端側周壁面と、嵌合終端側周壁面とがイグニッションスイッチ(3)の取り付け凹部(4)への嵌合深さが所定深さになった際にほぼ同時に圧接して径方向のガタツキが規制される。
