For instance, in a case of death occurring in alleged “police encounter” 2012, when investigated by the judicial magistrate under Section 30 in Faisalabad, it was determined that it was a fake police encounter and that the victim had been tortured to death by the police.[footnoteRef:75] As a result of this report submitted to the District and Session Judge by the magistrate, directives were issued to the IGP to deal with the responsible police officials under the law.[footnoteRef:76] [75: FIR.
