In view of these concerns, we recall and reaffirm the following principles, which are already enshrined in international human rights instruments: self-determination; self-governance; indigenous jurisprudence; self-identification; secure collective and intergenerational rights over lands and natural resources, both surface and subsurface; gender equity; social equity; protection and development of intellectual property rights; cultural heritage and indigenous knowledge systems; self-representation; free, prior and informed consent; and the right to say no to involuntary displacement

Considerando estas inquietudes, recordamos y reafirmamos los siguientes principios, ya consagrados en los instrumentos internacionales de derechos humanos: la libre determinación; el autogobierno; la jurisprudencia indígena; la autoidentificación; la seguridad de los derechos colectivos e intergeneracionales sobre las tierras y los recursos naturales ―de superficie y subterráneos―; la igualdad entre los géneros; la igualdad social; la protección y el desarrollo de los derechos de propiedad intelectual; el acervo cultural y los sistemas de conocimiento indígenas; la autorrepresentación; el consentimiento libre, previo e informado; y el derecho a negarse al desplazamiento involuntario
