Specifically disclosed are: a chlorella strain J005 which can be proliferated in culture in the darkness and has a high chlorophyll content and a high active oxygen scavenging ability; and a composition comprising, as an active ingredient, a chlorella having the same or higher active oxygen scavenging ability as or than that of SOD protein 45pg per 0.1 mg of chlorella protein.
