Das Verfahren bzw. die Vorrichtung sind dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zumindest während des Anfahrens und/oder des Abfahrens der Salpetersäureanlage in der mehrstufigen Restgasturbine (1 ) ein Teilstrom (3) des die mehrstufige Restgasturbine (1 ) durchströmenden Mediums (4) entnommen wird und dass gegebenenfalls vor der mehrstufigen Restgasturbine (1 ) ein Teilstrom (2) des der mehrstufigen Restgasturbine (1 ) zugeführten Mediums (4a) entnommen wird und dass das entnommene Medium einem Kamin (5) zugeführt wird, wobei die Entnahme des Teilstroms (3) zwischen zwei oder mehreren Restgasturbinenstufen stattfindet.
