Some invasive alien species are included in Annex B to Council Regulation (EC) No 338/97 (14), and their importation into the Union is prohibited because their invasive character has been recognised and their introduction into the Union has an adverse impact on catesbeianus, Sciurus niger, Chrysemys picta and Trachemys scripta elegans.
