The Council suggests that the Tribunals consider to change the annual term of their Presidents to run from 1 January to 31 December (instead of 1 July to 30 June, which is just before the usual deadlines for submission of the annual communications of the Tribunals to the General Assembly) by extending the current term of the Presidents to 18 months, that is, from 1 July 2017 to 31 December 2018 and then reverting to a yearly presidency (para. 87).
