This paper presents a review on the studies reported for the biotransformation of the monoterpenes geraniol and pinene, emphasizing in the production of natural compounds with pharmaceutical applications, and showing results obtained in the Research Center in Science and Technology Food of the Industrial University of Santander.

Se presenta una revisión sobre los diferentes estudios reportados para la biotransformación de los monoterpenos geraniol y pineno, destacando la producción de compuestos naturales con aplicaciones farmacéuticas, y citando los resultados obtenidos en el Centro de Investigación en Ciencia y Tecnología de Alimentos de la Universidad Industrial de Santander.
