Οι Σχολές (σχολαὶ, λατινικά scholae) ήταν το πρεσβύτερο μεταξύ των «ταγμάτων», προερχόμενο από τα συντάγματα της αυτοκρατορικής φρουράς των scholae palatinae, που ιδρύθηκαν από τον Μέγα Κωνσταντίνο (306–337) και αρχικά βρίσκονταν υπό τις διαταγές του μάγιστρου των οφφικίων.

The Schools (Latin: scholae; Greek: σχολαὶ, scholai) was the senior tagma, tracing their origin to the Scholae Palatinae established by Constantine the Great (r. 306–337) and originally placed under the command of the magister officiorum.
