An image display device, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a display unit for displaying at least one piece of content; an audio output unit for outputting a sound signal; an interface unit for receiving biosignal information related to a biosignal of a user from an external input device having a biosignal sensor; and a control unit for primarily determining whether the user is in a sleeping state when the biosignal information is received, and secondarily determining whether the user is in a sleeping state by driving a camera for detecting the movements of the user, when it is primarily determined that the user is in a sleeping state or when the biosignal information has not been received.

본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 영상표시장치는 적어도 하나의 컨텐츠를 디스플레이하는 디스플레이부와, 음향 신호를 출력하는 오디오 출력부와, 생체 신호 감지 센서를 구비한 외부입력기기로부터, 사용자의 생체 신호와 관련된 생체 신호 정보를 수신하는 인터페이스부와, 상기 생체 신호 정보가 수신되면 상기 사용자가 수면 상태에 있는지를 1차 판단하고, 상기 1차 판단 결과 상기 사용자가 수면 상태이거나 또는 상기 생체 신호 정보가 수신되지 않으면 사용자의 움직임을 감지하기 위한 카메라를 구동하여 상기 사용자가 수면 상태에 있는지를 2차 판단하는 제어부를 포함한다.
