Notably, NORAD has begun tracking North American air traffic in conjunction with the American Federal Aviation Administration and Nav Canada.44 This new responsibility also includes streamlining new Rules of Engagement, allowing for a more aggressive defence of North American airspace.45 Previously, NORAD was principally concerned with external aerospace threats and drug trafficking.
