In February 1998, when fire destroyed the chancery in Caracas, Venezuela, the Department purchased and fit-up a replacement. In Bogota, Columbia, to avoid expensive structural repairs to the existing chancery, the Department identified new office space for purchase.

En février 1998, un incendie ayant détruit la chancellerie de Caracas (Venezuela), le Ministère a acheté et aménagé un immeuble pour la remplacer. à Bogota (Colombie), pour éviter de coûteuses réparations à la structure de la chancellerie existante, le Ministère a trouvé de nouveaux locaux à acheter pour ses bureaux.
