Als Häupter des endzeitlichen Israel – auch sie zwölf an der Zahl wie die Stämme des auserwählten Volkes – setzen die Apostel die vom Herrn begonnene »Sammlung« fort, und sie tun dies vor allem, indem sie die empfangene Gabe, die Frohe Botschaft vom Reich, das in Jesus Christus zu den Menschen gekommen ist, treu weitergeben.

As heads of the eschatological Israel, and likewise as Twelve, the number of the tribes of the Chosen People, the Apostles continued the "gathering" begun by the Lord and did so first and foremost by transmitting faithfully the gift received, the Good News of the Kingdom that came to people in Jesus Christ.
