The invention provides a process of producing a mineral wool growth substrate comprising providing a charge of solid mineral material, melting the mineral material to form a melt, forming fibres from the melt and collecting the fibres as a primary web, and consolidating the primary web, the process comprising applying to the fibres, after formation and before collection, binder and wetting agent, wherein the wetting agent comprises anionic surfactant, characterised in that substantially no polyol is applied to the fibres after formation and before collection and in that the anionic surfactant is an alkyl aryl sulfonate surfactant.

Le procédé consiste aussi à appliquer aux fibres, à la suite de la formation et avant la collecte, un liant et un agent mouillant, l'agent mouillant comprenant un surfactant anionique. Ledit procédé se caractérise en ce qu'aucun polyol n'est appliqué sur les fibres après la formation et avant la collecte, et en ce que le surfactant anionique correspond à un surfactant sulfonate d'alkyle aryle.
