সিয়ার-আল-মুতাক্কিরিন এ লিপিবদ্ধ হয় যে, করতোয়া গঙ্গার তিনগুণ ছিল যখন বখতিয়ার খিলজি ১১১৫ সালে বাংলার উত্তরাঞ্চল দখল করেন।

In the Siyar-al-Mutakhkhirin it is recorded that the Karatoya was three times the size of the Ganges when Bakhtiyar Khilji invaded the northern parts of Bengal in 1115.
