في الدورة الرابعة والأربعين، طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم في موعد أقصاه عام 1992، وكل ثلاث سنوات بعد ذلك إلى حين انعقاد المؤتمر الاستعراضي الرابع، تقريرا عن التطورات التكنولوجية المتصلة بمعاهدة حظر وضع الأسلحة النووية وغيرها من أسلحة الدمار الشامل على قاع البحار والمحيطات وفي باطن أرضها وبالتحقق من التقيد بها؛ وحثت جميع الدول الأطراف في المعاهدة على مساعدة الأمين العام بتزويده بالمعلومات وتوجيه انتباهه إلى المصادر المناسبة (القرار 44/116 سين).

At its forty-fourth session, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report by 1992, and every three years thereafter until the fourth Review Conference was convened, on technological developments relevant to the Treaty on the Prohibition of the Emplacement of Nuclear Weapons and Other Weapons of Mass Destruction on the Sea-Bed and the Ocean Floor and in the Subsoil Thereof and to the verification of compliance with the Treaty; and urged all States parties to the Treaty to assist the Secretary-General by providing information and drawing his attention to suitable sources (resolution 44/116 O).

En su cuadragésimo cuarto período de sesiones, la Asamblea General pidió al Secretario General que para 1992, y en adelante cada tres años, hasta la convocación de la cuarta Conferencia encargada del examen, informara sobre adelantos tecnológicos pertinentes al Tratado sobre prohibición de emplazar armas nucleares y otras armas de destrucción en masa en los fondos marinos y oceánicos y su subsuelo y a la verificación del cumplimiento con el Tratado e instó a todos los Estados partes en el Tratado a que prestaran ayuda al Secretario General proporcionándole información y señalando a su atención las fuentes adecuadas (resolución 44/116 O).

À sa quarante-quatrième session, l’Assemblée générale a prié le Secrétaire général de présenter au plus tard en 1992, et par la suite tous les trois ans jusqu’à la quatrième Conférence d’examen, un rapport sur les progrès techniques qui avaient un rapport avec le Traité interdisant de placer des armes nucléaires et d’autres armes de destruction massive sur le fond des mers et des océans ainsi que dans leur sous-sol et avec la vérification de son exécution; et invité instamment tous les États parties au Traité à prêter, à cette fin, leur concours au Secrétaire général en communiquant des éléments d’information et en appelant son attention sur les sources appropriées (résolution 44/116 O).

На своей сорок четвертой сессии Генеральная Ассамблея просила Генерального секретаря представить к 1992 году и затем представлять каждые три года вплоть до созыва четвертой Конференции по рассмотрению действия Договора о запрещении размещения на дне морей и океанов и в его недрах ядерного оружия и других видов оружия массового уничтожения доклад о технических достижениях, имеющих отношение к Договору и к контролю за соблюдением Договора; и настоятельно призвала все государства — участники Договора оказывать Генеральному секретарю помощь, предоставляя информацию и обращая его внимание на подходящие источники (резолюция 44/116 О).
