An important reason for such comparisons is that, in many ways, after a gap of close to forty years, the 21st century leaders of our two nations are seeking to complete the processes set in motion by their predecessors in the early years, soon after the 1971 Liberation War led to the birth of Bangladesh as an independent, sovereign country.

ऐसी तुलना का एक महत्वपूर्ण कारण यह है कि कई प्रकार से लगभग चालीस वर्षों के अंतराल के बाद हमारे दोनो राष्ट्रों के 21 वीं शताब्दि के नेताओं ने 1971 के प्रारम्भिक वर्षों के मुक्ति संग्राम के नेतृत्व में, जब एक स्वतंत्र एवं संप्रभुता सम्पन्न बंगलादेश का जन्म हुआ था, उसके बाद वे अब अपने उन्हीं पूर्वजों के द्वारा स्थापित प्रक्रिया को पूरा करने के आग्रही हैं।
