ويعرِّف القانون وقت ارتكاب الجريمة على أنه وقت تنفيذ (أو عدم تنفيذ) فعل يشكل خطراً على المجتمع، بغض النظر عن موعد ظهور عواقب ذلك الفعل.

The time of commission of an offence is considered to be the time when the act or omission that poses a danger to society takes place, regardless of when the consequences ensue.
