Since the precise cortical organisation of human cerebral cortex that enables him first to learn to speak and thus armed to familiarise himself with World2 of objective knowledge depends greatly on appropriate neonatal environment , the old debate about the relative contributions of heredity ( genes ) and environment ( nurture ) in making the mind of man is by no means closed .

मनुष्य की प्रमस्तिष्कीय झिल्ली की यथार्थ प्रांतीस्या व्यवस्था उसे बोलने की क्षमता प्रदान करती है तथा इस प्रकार तैयार हो जाने के पश्चात उसे वस्तुनिष्ठ ज्ञान की दुनिया से परिचित होने का अवसर देती है . यह व्यवस्था समीचीन नवजात परिवेश पर निर्भर करती है . मनुष्य का मन निर्माण करने में आनुवंशिकी ( जीन ) तथा परिवेश ( प्रकृति ) का आनुपातिक योगदान कितना होता है यह प्रश्न आज भी अनुत्तरित है .
