Als besonders hilfreich in der Beurteilung der Mitralklappe erwies sich dabei die Aufsicht auf die Klappe vom linken Vorhof aus sowie Abbiildungsebenen, welche durch Drehung des Vierkammerblickes um die horizontale Achse erhalten werden können, welche eine bessere Beurteilung der Mitralklappensegel und der Papillarmuskel ermöglichen als die konventionelle Echokardiographie.
