ผลการประเมินศักยภาพการอนุรักษ์พลังงานในภาคอุตสาหกรรมปรากฏดังตารางที่ 3.6 โดยใน ภาพรวม ภาคอุตสาหกรรมมีศักยภาพประมาณ 13,790 ktoe หรือคิดเป็นร้อยละ 22 ของปริมาณความต้องการพลังงานที่คาดการณ์ในปี 2573 (BAU) โดยสาขาอุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเครื่องดื่มมีศักยภาพสูงสุดคือ 5,370 ktoe คิดเป็นร้อยละ 28 ของความต้องการ รองลงมา ได้แก่ อโลหะ กระดาษ และเคมี ซึ่งมีศกัยภาพการประหยัดพลังงาน 2,500 2,110 และ 1,370 ktoe ตามลําดับ สาขาอุตสาหกรรมโลหะมูลฐานมีศักยภาพน้อยที่สุดคือ 300 ktoe สําหรับศักยภาพการอนุรักษ์พลังงานในสาขาอุตสาหกรรมอื่นๆ ที่มีสัดส่วนการใช้พลังงานประมาณร้อยละ 15 ของปริมาณการใช้พลังงานในภาคอุตสาหกรรมทั้งหมดและมีความหลากหลายในสาขาอุตสาหกรรมมากนั้น หากอนุมานศักยภาพการอนุรักษ์พลังงานเท่ากับ 5 สาขาหลักคือ ร้อยละ 22 จะมีศักยภาพ 2,140 ktoe
