وأُبلغت اللجنة الاستشارية كذلك لدى استفسارها بأن مجلس الأمن قرر تمديد ولايات قضاة مخصصين محددين إلى ما بعد الحد الأقصى البالغ ثلاث سنوات من أجل تجنب احتمال الحاجة الممكنة إلى إعادة بدء المحاكمات أو الاستعاضة عن قاضٍ مخصص لفترة زمنية قصيرة متبقية قبل إنجاز المحاكمة.

The Advisory Committee was further informed, upon enquiry, that the Security Council had decided to extend the mandates of particular ad litem judges beyond the three-year maximum in order to avoid the possible need to restart trials or to replace an ad litem judge for the short amount of time remaining before the completion of a trial.

В ответ на его запрос Консультативный комитет был далее информирован о том, что Совет Безопасности постановил продлить срок полномочий конкретных судей ad litem по истечении установленного трехлетнего максимального срока во избежание вероятной необходимости возобновления судебных разбирательств или замены судей ad litem на короткий срок, оставшийся до завершения того или иного судебного разбирательства.
