تؤكد من جديد أن على الدول الأطراف أن تراعي في ترشيحاتها للعضوية في لجنة حقوق الإنسان واللجنة المعنية بالحقوق الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والثقافية أن تتألف اللجنتان من أشخاص ذوي أخلاق عالية ومشهود لهم بالكفاءة في ميدان حقوق الإنسان، مع مراعاة الفائدة من مشاركة بعض الأشخاص من ذوي التجربة في المجال القانوني، وأن يعمل الأعضاء بصفتهم الشخصية، وتؤكد مرة أخرى كذلك على أن يراعى، في انتخاب اللجان، التوزيع الجغرافي العادل للعضوية، وتمثيل مختلف أشكال الحضارات والنظم القانونية الرئيسية؛

Reiterates that States parties should take into account in their nomination of members to the Human Rights Committee and the Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights that the Committee shall be composed of persons of high moral character and recognized competence in the field of human rights, consideration being given to the usefulness of participation of some persons having legal experience, and that members serve in their personal capacity, and further reiterates that, in the elections of the Committees, consideration shall be given to equitable geographical distribution of membership and to the representation of the different forms of civilization and of the principal legal systems;

Reitera que los Estados partes deben tener en cuenta, cuando presenten sus candidatos a miembros del Comité de Derechos Humanos y del Comité de Derechos Económicos, Sociales y Culturales, que estos Comités han de estar compuestos de personas de gran estatura moral y reconocida competencia en materia de derechos humanos, que conviene que participen algunas personas que posean experiencia jurídica y que los miembros ejercen sus funciones a título personal, y reitera también que, en relación con la elección de los miembros de los Comités, deberá tenerse en cuenta la distribución geográfica equitativa y la representación de las diferentes formas de civilización y los principales sistemas jurídicos;

Rappelle que les États parties, lorsqu’ils proposent des candidatures au Comité des droits de l’homme et au Comité des droits économiques, sociaux et culturels, doivent tenir compte du fait que ces comités doivent être composés de personnes ayant une haute moralité et une compétence reconnue dans le domaine des droits de l’homme, étant entendu que l’utilité de la participation de certaines personnes ayant une expérience juridique doit être prise en considération, et du fait que les membres siègent à titre personnel, et rappelle également, en ce qui concerne l’élection des membres des comités, qu’il importe de veiller à une répartition géographique équitable dans leur composition ainsi qu’à la représentation des différentes formes de civilisation et des principaux systèmes juridiques;

вновь заявляет, что государствам-участникам при выдвижении кандидатов в члены Комитета по правам человека и Комитета по экономическим, социальным и культурным правам следует учитывать, что в состав комитетов должны входить лица, обладающие высокими нравственными качествами и признанной компетентностью в области прав человека, принимая при этом во внимание полезность участия в работе комитетов нескольких лиц, обладающих юридическим опытом, и что члены комитетов выступают в своем личном качестве, и вновь заявляет далее, что при выборах в Комитет следует принимать во внимание справедливое географическое распределение членов и представительство различных форм цивилизации и основных юридических систем;
