A catheter apparatus, comprising a hollow catheter extension (1) of which the distal end can be connected to a catheter (2) and on which the proximal end is provided with a connecting device (3) for an additional device, a port (4) which branches off radially between the proximal and distal end on the catheter extension (1), a first valve element (5) in the catheter extension (1) which closes the port (4) in the ready position and which opens the connection between port and catheter when pressure is applied from outside to the port, and a second valve element (6) which prevents the escape of blood from the catheter extension in the proximal direction, wherein the second valve element (6) is formed as a two-way valve such that flow-through in both directions is possible.
