Millions of families in the EU are suffering the drastic effects of energy poverty. Meanwhile the Commission has presented a ‘winter package’ on energy market reform that lacks ambition, the Spanish Supreme Court has ruled against the social bonus — which is a widespread practice in Portugal and France — and Spain’s Minister for Energy has revealed that the Commission ordered governments not to make electricity bills a tool of ‘social policy’ because this would ‘change market conditions’.

Mientras millones de familias europeas padecen el drama de la pobreza energética, la Comisión presenta un «paquete de invierno» de reforma del mercado energético que aborda esta cuestión de manera poco ambiciosa, el Tribunal Supremo español dictamina contra el bono social —una práctica extendida en Portugal o Francia—, y nuestro ministro de Energía revela que la Comisión habría exigido a los Gobiernos que no hagan «política social» con la factura eléctrica porque supondría «modificar las condiciones del mercado».
