The increase in CPI owed mainly to the 4.5 percent increase in food prices in line with rising prices in vegetable fruit, rice, lean pork, fish and seafood, and eggs and milk products. In addition, the high oil price caused non-food prices increased by 1.7 percent, mainly in electricity, gas for cooking, fuel, and public transportation fare.
