ومن الواضح أن هذه الوحدة تقوم بدور هام جدا، فيما يتصل بالعدالة وتحقيق المصالحة الوطنية، على حد سواء، ونرحب بالتقدم الذي أحرزته إدارة الأمم المتحدة الانتقالية في تيمور الشرقية والسلطات الإندونيسية حتى الآن فيما يتصل بمحاسبة المسؤولين عن الجرائم التي ارتكبت في تيمور الشرقية خلال الأيام السوداء التي أعقبت الاستفتاء مباشرة.

It clearly has a very important role, both in terms of justice and in terms of national reconciliation, and we welcome the progress that has been made both by UNTAET and by the Indonesian authorities in bringing to account those responsible for crimes in East Timor during the dark days immediately following the referendum.

Ce Groupe a un rôle très important à jouer, tant du point de vue de la justice que de la réconciliation nationale, et nous nous félicitons des progrès qui ont été faits par l’ATNUTO et par les autorités indonésiennes pour traduire en justice ceux qui sont responsables des crimes commis au Timor oriental au cours des journées bien sombres qui ont immédiatement suivi le référendum.
