One embodiment of the present invention provides a method for providing a search function through a portion of a locked screen of a user terminal, comprising the steps of: displaying a search word input window in a first region of the locked screen in response to a specific motion input of a user on the locked screen; displaying a keypad for a search word input when the search word input window is selected by the user; and displaying a search result page including a search result corresponding to a search word inputted through the keypad.
