His restoration was marked by an inscription on the Arch of Claudius, which formed part of the aqueduct and spans the Via Lata - this includes the phrase " AQUAE VIRGINIS DISTVRBATOS PER C(AIVM) CAESAREM" (of the Aqua Virgo, damaged by C Caesar).
