The Committee wished to know how the State Party guaranteed the right to the assistance of a lawyer and whether it planned to extend the mandate of the National Human Rights Commission to this aspect of legal guarantees or to establish other commissions which would be in charge of ensuring the right to defense, more specifically through the organization for jurisdictional assistance.

El Comité desearía saber de qué forma garantiza el Estado parte el derecho a contar con la asistencia de un abogado y si tiene la intención de ampliar el mandato de la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos a ese aspecto de las garantías judiciales o de establecer otras comisiones encargadas de garantizar los derechos de la defensa, en particular mediante la organización de la asistencia jurídica.

Le Comité souhaiterait savoir comment l’État partie garantit le droit à l’assistance d’un avocat et s’il envisage d’étendre le mandat de la Commission nationale des droits de l’homme à cet aspect des garanties judiciaires ou d’établir d’autres commissions qui seraient chargées d’assurer les droits de la défense, notamment par l’organisation de l’aide juridictionnelle.
