Aliénation (Disposal) – le fait de soustraire à la garde d'un ministère ou d'un organisme sous forme de transfert de propriété ou de recyclage à titre de rebut. Biens de surplus de la Couronne (Surplus Crown assets) – biens (à l'exception des biens réels et immeubles tels que l'entend la Loi sur les immeubles fédéraux et les biens réels fédéraux ou toute permission qui y est relative) qui appartiennent à Sa Majesté et dont un ministère ou un organisme fédéral assure la garde ou la gestion, mais qui ne lui sont pas nécessaires (au moment présent comme dans le futur).
