A method of purifying fullerenes to obtain a preparation enriched in a fullerene of selected molecular weight using activated carbon involves adding a fullerene mixture to the top end of a column comprising activated carbon, passing a solvent especially a chlorinated aromatic solvent in which the selected molecular weight fullerene is soluble through the column, and recovering a fraction enriched in the selected molecular weight fullerene from the bottom end of the column.

Procédé de purification de fullerènes utilisé pour obtenir une préparation enrichie en fullerène à masse molaire sélectionnée, à l'aide de charbon actif. Ce procédé consiste à ajouter un mélange de fullerènes à l'extrémité supérieure d'une colonne comprenant du charbon actif, à envoyer dans la colonne un solvant, plus spécifiquement un solvant aromatique chloré, dans lequel se dissout le fullerène à masse molaire sélectionnée, puis à récupérer à l'extrémité inférieure de la colonne, une fraction enrichie en fullerène à masse molaire sélectionnée.
