وتمثل مهمة اللجنة - وهي تحديد أفضل الممارسات المتعلقة بتنفيذ الاتفاقية ونشرها، حسبما هو مبين في الاستراتيجية - استمراراً منطقياً لمهمة اللجنة المبينة في المقرر 1/م أ-5 وهي "تحديد وتوليف أفضل الممارسات والتجارب والدروس المستخلصة".

The function of the CRIC as defined in The Strategy, to determine and disseminate best practices on implementation of the UNCCD, is a logical continuation of the task of the CRIC expressed in decision 1/COP.5 – to “Identify and synthesize best practices, experiences and lessons learned”.
