وتبين للمجلس أن قذيفتين قد انفجرتا فوق المدرسة حوالي الساعة 40/6 من يوم 17 كانون الثاني/يناير، فتناثرت العشرات من القطع الإسفينية الشكل المشبعة الحارقة بالفوسفور الأبيض في الهواء فوق المجمع، ثم تساقطت على المدرسة ذاتها.

The Board found that, on 17 January at approximately 6.40 a.m., two ordnance rounds exploded above the school, dispersing dozens of burning white phosphorus-impregnated felt wedges into the air over the compound and down on to the school itself.
