The folk influence may be less important on this album but the monotonous trance jazz taste, which characterised Beardance, has remained. Basically the material mixes quite a few music styles: the compositions also contain program music elements, like movie or theatre atmosphere. This is made more dominant by Nagy Zsolt playing the vibraphone and the timpani and there is a bit of a rock vibe in it too’, Barabás Lőrinc says about the album Other Than Unusual.

„Talán most a népzenei vonal kicsit háttérbe került, de megmaradt az a fajta monoton transzjazz vonal, ami a Beardance-t jellemezte. Alapvetően elég sok zenei stílust ötvöz az anyag: kicsit programzenés, film- és színházi zenés hangulatot is hordoznak a szerzemények, amelyet egyebek mellett az is megerősít, hogy Nagy Zsolt vibrafonon és üstdobokon is játszik, de vannak benne rockosabb elemek is.” – mondja Barabás Lőrinc a lemezről.
