Kitano Odori is a dance performance by geisha and maiko (geisha in training) associated with Kamishichiken. The season begins on March 25 each year and is a harbinger of spring in Kyoto, opening before the other spring dances in hanamachi such as Miyako Odori, Kyo Odori and Kamogawa Odori.
