Virando hacia el Oeste arribamos hasta el Monumento de Cañota, sitio conocido porque fue acá donde se dividió el Ejército de San Martín, un ala a cargo de él cruzó por el Paso de Los Patos y la otra ala tenía como jefe al General Las Heras por el Puesto de Vaquerías, lugar donde llegamos y punto de entrada a la Reserva Natural de Villavicencio.
