Der Ablagerungsraum ist durch ein strukturelles Hoch (Comelico Hoch) in zwei Teilbecken untergliedert. Dieses auch noch im Tesero Horizont aktive, von synsedimentären Störungen begrenzte Hoch ist für das eingeschränkte Milieu im W verantwortlich.

The depositional area of the Bellerophon Formation is subdivided into two basins produced by a fault-bound structural high (Comelico High) which is responsible for the more restricted environment in the western part.
