A "standing" Research Committee has been established and has undertaken a number of activities to promote research, including the development of a research focused strategic plan and research agenda; the establishment of a research program co-ordinator position; the creation of a partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research; the founding of a research centre with linkages to university based researchers (Consortium of Canadian Chiropractic Research Centre); the ongoing production of clinical practice guidelines; and the active dissemination of research findings through avenues such as the CCA professional journal, research bulletins and CCA web site.
