১৫৫০ সালে, দশ বছর বয়সে বকশী বানুকে তার বাবা সুলাইমান শাহ মির্জার ছেলে ইব্রাহিম মির্জার সাথে বাগদান করিয়ে দেন। সুলাইমান মির্জার পিতৃপুরুষ আলেকজান্ডার দ্যা গ্রেটের বংশধর বলে দাবী করা হয়। ইবরাহিম মির্জা, যিনি বখশী বানুর চেয়ে ছয় বছরের বড় ছিলেন, ১৫৬০ সালে ২৬ বছর বয়সে নিহত হন। সে সময় বকশী বানুর বয়স ছিলো ২০ বছর।

In 1550, at the age of ten, Bakshi Banu was betrothed by her father to Ibrahim Mirza, eldest son of Sulaiman Shah Mirza, Governor of Badakshan, and his wife Haram Begum, the daughter of Sultan Wais Kulabi Qibchaq Mughal. The family of Sulaiman Mirza, though their paternal ancestress Shah Begum, claimed descent from Alexander the Great. Ibrahim Mirza, who was six years older than Bakshi Banu, was killed in 1560 at 26. She was twenty years of age.
