১৯৪৭ সালে ভারত বিভক্তির সময় দিনাজপুর জেলার ঠাকুরগাঁও মহকুমার অন্তর্ভুক্ত হয়। ১৯৮০ সাল থেকে পঞ্চগড় মহকুমার অধীনে আসে।
