Finally, this thesis has investigated for the first time, the patterns and processes of speciation within the genus Potyvirus in wild ecosystems, demonstrating that the process of genetic diversification of potyviruses is compatible with sympatric speciation events in the studied ecosystems.

Finalmente, esta tesis ha investigado por primera vez los patrones y procesos de especiación dentro del género Potyvirus en ecosistemas silvestres.
