Finally, it is concluded that, although the novels analyzed in this paper establish a poetic dialogue with each other, especially because of the similarities between the northeastern man’s situation and the Cape Verdean’s (the character in both novels live in hostile environments, they suffer because of the strength of tradition and because of the necessity of immigration), we have a great difference: the wandering northeastern keeps on being a victim of the destiny, yet the Cape Verdean man, with his “morabeza”, decides to be the owner of his destiny resisting and struggling for a better life.

Ao longo da análise serão apontados trechos das obras, observando semelhanças e dessemelhanças. Por fim, conclui-se que, ainda que as obras analisadas neste trabalho estabeleçam um diálogo poético, sobretudo pela semelhante situação de vida do homem nordestino e do caboverdiano, pelas condições hostis do meio em que vivem as personagens, pela força opressiva da tradição e pela necessidade de imigração, a grande diferença está no fato do nordestino errante e embrutecido continuar sendo vítima do destino, enquanto o caboverdiano, com sua “morabeza”, decide ser dono do próprio destino, resistindo e lutando por uma vida melhor.
